Google announced on Google+ a new feature available to sync between the desktop version of Google Maps and the mobile app based versions of Google Maps.
You can now send a place you found using the desktop version of Google Maps directly to your device, be it an iPhone or Android phone running the Google Maps app.
As long as you are signed into to both the desktop version and have signed in to your app based version of Google Maps, Google will show the device(s) that is available to send it to.

Google explains in their help document that if your device not shown, then you should make sure you’re signed in to Google Maps with the same account across your computer and mobile devices with the latest version of Maps for mobile installed. If you are not receiving notifications then make sure your mobile device might have problems connecting to the network and/or make sure your data or Wi-Fi is turned on and you have notifications turned on.
