Artem Russakovskii reports that some Android users are now able to install Android apps directly from the mobile Google search results.
He shared a screen shot showing the install progress from within the mobile search results interface:
The typical behavior is it would take the searcher into the Google Play interface to review the app details and then click install from the Google Play app. But it seems Google is testing bypassing that step by allowing some Android users to install Android apps directly within the mobile results.
This should help with app developers noticing more app downloads, if it does indeed go live for all Android users.
I doubt Google will be able to do the same for iOS users.
